Roland is in trouble for his bad grades. He has been sent to the Master and is now awaiting his arrival. When the Master arrives Roland pleads to be forgiven so he could avoid punishment, but the Master in a few words and without wasting time makes it clear to the boy he is to receive a severe punishment, which must commence immediately.
